Through a masterclass, Kathy Hinde will showcase her latest projects that aim to bring people together for a closer and more empathetic relationship with other species and our planet’s systems. From sound walks to installations that respond to seismic changes in the Earth’s core, the audiovisual artist will share her creative methods and processes, which include collaborations with scientists and developing research that underpins her artistic practice.<\/p>\n
Kathy Hinde is an audiovisual artist whose artistic practice intersects kinetic sound sculptures and newly invented instruments that can be played live in countless ways. Her works involve the public in the creative process and rely on collaboration with the scientific community and other professionals. Hinde has already received a number of awards, including the Ivor Novello Award (2020) with “Twittering Machines,” an Honorable Mention at the Prix Ars Electronica (2015), a British Composer Award in Sound Art (2017), and an ORAM award (2017).<\/p>\n
Based on experimentation, creation, art and technology, the BMA lab training cycle is dedicated to the main topics of Media Arts, providing participants with the experience of developing works, tools and ideas. This lab has moments dedicated to thinking and reflecting about Digital Art and is intended for artists, musicians, programmers, teachers, students and anyone interested in Media Arts.<\/p>\n
