In the complexity and fragility of the present time, four film proposals around identities &#8211; who we are or who we want to be, what we are or where we are from &#8211; are projected at this year&#8217;s Cinema no P\u00e1tio. Edgar P\u00eara, Fernando Pessoa and all his heteronyms set the tone in <em>N\u00e3o Sou Nada<\/em>. C\u00e9line Sciamma reflects on an impossibility in <em>Portrait of a Lady on Fire<\/em>, Elia Suleiman on Palestine, origin and belonging in <em>It Must Be Heaven<\/em>\u00a0and, finally, Victor Erice on absences and lost identities in <em>Close Your Eyes<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The cycle Cinema no P\u00e1tio 2024 is programmed by Eduardo Brito.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Eduardo Brito works in cinema, writing and photography. He wrote and directed <em>A Sibila<\/em> (2023), based on the work of Agustina Bessa-Lu\u00eds. He is also the author of the short films <em>Pen\u00fambria<\/em> (2016), <em>Declive<\/em> (2018), <em>Ursula<\/em> (2020), <em>Lethes<\/em> (2021) and <em>La Ermita<\/em> (2021). He wrote the screenplay for the feature film <em>The Worst Man in London<\/em> (Rodrigo Areias, 2024), the short films <em>The Knife<\/em> (Paulo Abreu, 2012), <em>The Glory of Making Cinema in Portugal<\/em> (Manuel Mozos, 2015) and <em>The Eternal Man<\/em> (Lu\u00eds Costa, 2017). With Rodrigo Areias, he wrote the feature films <em>H\u00e1lito Azul<\/em> (2018) and <em>A Pedra Espera Dar Flor<\/em> (also with Pedro Bastos, 2022). He teaches at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto (FBAUP), where he studied, and at ESAD &#8211; Escola Superior de Artes e Design, and specialised in screenwriting at the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisi\u00f3n in Cuba.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fefTLkN6Qo4?si=6lfvKoT2RV8gv_B7\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>close your eyes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Julio Arenas, a famous Spanish actor, disappears while shooting a film. Although his body is never found, the police conclude that he was the victim of an accident by the sea. Many years later, the mystery surrounding Arenas&#8217; disappearance is once again in the news.
