The prominence of the issue of immigration, within the context of the populist narratives that have emerged across Europe, has led to a re-evaluation of the importance of borders in political discourse, as well as to the use of hostile deterrence strategies underpinned by cutting-edge technology. One example of this is the EU-funded Talos project, which strengthens border surveillance and security across Europe through the use of semi-autonomous robots. Drawing on the experiences of choreographer, performer and researcher Arkadi Zaides \u2013 with the Talos project \u2013 and researcher, artist and curator Margarida Mendes \u2013 with her work in the Bia\u0142owie\u017ca Forest, on the border between Poland and Belarus \u2013 that the reality of these liminal zones will be the subject of discussion, in a conversation moderated by curator and writer Nora O\u2019Murch\u00fa.<\/p>\n
