In Djerid, in southern Tunisia, her contact with Berber culture and Sufi mysticism provided the raw material and inspiration for her music, and when the world heard her debut album \u2018Draw Me a Silence\u2019, released on the British label Livity Sound in 2020, her sound was naturally described as \u201cSaharan techno\u201d or \u201cdesert dub.\u201d It was like one of the storms that regularly sweep across Europe from Africa, and since then her music has been a breath of hot air brimming with vibrant modular synth work and abstract textures, driven by dizzying rhythms and smuggled-in dub.
