non-existent space – collage process from images generated by artificial intelligence
by
 carlo giovani e tânia dinis

Starting from the textual description, we will direct the creation of images generated by artificial intelligence to mix them with real photographs through analog collages. The goal is the production of scenes, stories and memories that question the real and the fiction. In this workshop we will explore the construction, structure and technical details of text as description and command for the generation of images by creative artificial intelligence and the ways to direct the production of such images. In addition to the practical component, this workshop will also have a thinking component that aims at a discussion about the application of artificial intelligence in design and art, its development and accessibility, and its possibilities as a tool.

the secret language of plants
por obsolete studio

What if plants could talk to us? It seems impossible, but plants also communicate with each other and use electricity to do so, just like our brains or the computers we use to send data. In this workshop, which mixes art and science, we will collect the electricity produced by plants and soil in order to create sounds and messages. Can we reproduce the language of plants?

one day ofa anti-catacresophony – think music by listening to the world
by interferência

Anticatacresophonia is a project of artistic and pedagogical intervention, which aims to show new sounds, practices and techniques in the creation of new music.
The project seeks to show music as a creative art, as a means of communication with numerous and diverse possibilities of expression and interpretation, many of them yet to be discovered.
Based on exploratory, creative, cooperative, and interactive musical practice, it is intended that the project’s workshop will develop tools for creative exploration based on awareness of the sounds of everyday life and their relationship with contemporary music of the 20th and 21st centuries. The workshop will be structured in two complementary parts: a theoretical part that consists in promoting moments of discussion, where questions such as: what is music? what is noise? and what is composing? are raised; a practical part that will focus on the use of everyday objects for musical creation and the reuse of these sounds as musical instruments.
