Based on the show #3Movediço, part of the “Dance of Inert Materials” series, choreographer and dancer Marta Cerqueira and musician and composer Simão Costa will lead the BMA lab: Relations between music, dance, and space. This session focuses on how we can visualize sound through mechanical devices, using, in particular, the sculpture present in the show. It will address aspects of body awareness and strategies for choreographic creation without resorting to the elaboration and memorization of movement phrases, proposing as an alternative the creation of algorithms or rules of interaction between participants and performers.
With a practical and reflective approach, this BMA lab places experimentation, innovation, and research in artistic practices as the backdrop for the proposed discourse and exercises.
