Má Estrela is the quintet led by saxophonist Pedro Alves Sousa. With Bruno Silva and Simão Simões on electronics, Gabriel Ferrandini on drums and electronics, Miguel Abras on bass and Sousa on saxophone and electronics, this collective seeks to connect the strands of dub, footwork, jungle, ambient and jazz in an uninterrupted flow of improvisation. At the end of the summer of 2023, Má Estrela was in residence at gnration recording their next work. In this orbit, the quintet premieres the new project through a live performance recorded during the residency.
