#27 – joana guerra & yaw tembe

Two leading figures in the world of experimental and improvised music, Joana Guerra and Yaw Tembe are finally joining forces as a duo, after having crossed paths in other contexts. In this project, Yaw Tembe’s trumpet and electronics combine with Joana Guerra’s cello and voice to evoke an exercise in futuristic archaeology, inspired by sandy matter and the ancestry of stones and fossils that contain both the past and the future. Before we hear them on disc, the Órbita cycle presents a concert filmed during a residency at gnration.
