The exhibition SOMOS TODOS CAPITÃES – 50 ANOS EM LIBERDADE, in collaboration with Lucky Star – Cineclube de Braga, is promoting a series of film screenings to celebrate the revolution that restored our freedom on April 25, 1974. This exhibition is on show until June 30, simultaneously at the N.6 Cavalry Regiment, the Nogueira da Silva Museum and the Braga Forum.

2024 – portugal – 90′ – m/12

For 41 years, Portugal witnessed the arrests, torture and exile of those who opposed the Estado Novo. Through the direct testimonies of 28 relatives of those who resisted this dictatorial regime, a portrait is drawn of a time and a country, opening up lines for understanding the present. In other works, we have heard from political prisoners, clandestines, exiles and deportees. Now, the focus is on those who also resisted imprisonment, those who faced material and emotional deprivation, often not yet old enough to understand – let alone accept – the inevitable and profound abrupt changes in their daily lives. Sons, daughters, women, almost always, and still today in silence.
