The beginning of electronic music in the 50s started with easy tools. Stockhausen realized quite early the need to understand and create the sound itself. It was in the radio station of Cologne (WDR) where this composer made his first discoveries and experiences in electronic music. TELEMUSIK and KONTAKTE are well-known as masterpieces: the first as a coexistence in the same space and time of worldwide traditional music; the second as the combination of electronic music and acoustic instruments in a surround sound environment.
