Masterclass led by renowned American guitarist, composer and producer Lee Ranaldo in partnership with photographer and multimedia artist Leah Singer. Based on their joint work Contre Jour, presented at gnration, the artists will take the audience on a journey inspired by the work of Portuguese artist Lourdes Castro.
In this session, we’ll delve into the essence of the artistic collaboration between Lee and Leah, exploring how they reinterpret the diversity of materials and techniques present in the Portuguese artist’s work.
leah singer
Leah Singer is a multidisciplinary artist who works with film, video, photography, printmaking and installation. Since the 1990s she has collaborated with musicians to create visuals for their live performances. Singer develops site-specific installations, intended to exist both on the exhibition level and in live performances.
lee ranaldo
Lee Ranaldo is a musician, visual artist and writer. A co-founding member of Sonic Youth, he has spent more than 40 years in the music business as a composer, performer and producer. Lee has also published several books of diaries, poetry and music.
