In 2022, Ana Deus and Marta Abreu collaborated on the exhibition Mulheres que fazem barulho (Women who make noise), which celebrated 16 women in Portuguese rock music. Shortly afterwards, they reunited to create a show that seeks to give a voice to women who have been silenced throughout their lives. Taking its title from one of the poems performed, Eu fui silêncio (I Was Silence) brings together texts by writers such as Natália Correia, Maria Teresa Horta, Judith Teixeira and Nadia Anjuman. The voice, between spoken word and song, is accompanied by electronic beats and textures, while a video projection spatialises and amplifies the performance. In 2025, Miguel Torga’s poem Fronteira was added to the show, addressing the construction of the Trump Wall and the attacks on the climate and life that this barrier has caused.
ocupa # 10 — perspective on eletronic music and digital art
For ten years, OCUPA has been keeping up with new artistic production in the fields of electronic music and digital art in Portugal. Promoted by the AUAUFEIOMAU, gnration and the Municipality of Braga, this initiative is related to and has contributed to Braga’s positioning as a UNESCO Creative City for the media arts. This year, in its tenth edition, OCUPA presents a programme of concerts, talks and installations that will take place at gnration and Casa Rolão.
