ode and cordão

In November, ODE – Orquestra de Dispositivos Eletrónicos (Electronic Devices Orchestra) will perform again after several months of brainstorming and creative sessions under the artistic direction of Spanish harpist and composer Angélica Salvi. In this performance, ODE will join forces with CORDÃO – Coro de Doentes e Amigos Oncológicos (Choir of Cancer Patients and Friends) to create a unique moment.
Since its creation in 2019, ODE – Orquestra de Dispositivos Eletrónicos has provided musicians and non-musicians in Braga with a place to meet and share their exploration of sound. Consisting primarily of electronic instruments such as computers, tablets and synthesizers, this ensemble is open to everyone, with no age or musical knowledge restrictions.
CORDÃO is a community choir made up of people diagnosed with cancer, undergoing treatment or in remission, and their carers. With the main objective of combating the social isolation of cancer patients and their carers, CORDÃO aims to connect people, sewing together new ways of living and looking at cancer. This project, created by Faz Cultura – Empresa Municipal de Cultura de Braga, is guided and artistically directed by musicians and mediators Joana Machado Araújo and Ricardo Baptista. CORDÃO is a project supported by the 3rd edition of the PARTIS & Art for Change initiative, promoted by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the ”la Caixa” Foundation.
