With his twelve strings and virtuoso fingerstyle playing, James Blackshaw is one of those artists you only really believe in once you’ve heard him live. The British musician draws inspiration from the American school of primitive guitar, minimalist composers and European classical music. He made his debut with Apologia (2003) and, over the course of a dozen years, released thirteen albums, notably The Glass Bead Game (2009), Love is the Plan, the Plan is Death (2012) and Summoning Suns (2015). After a hiatus of almost ten years, Blackshaw returned to music with Unravelling In Your Hands (2024), followed by Fractures On The Horizon (2026), albums which he will perform at this concert.
