gnration open day: uncle gueispar & the oompa loompas
Somewhere between Guimarães and Braga emerges Uncle Gueispar, a repressed and anguished figure following the sudden end of a relationship at the age of 16. Now an adult, Gueispar takes out his frustrations on the workers at a factory, until the day an epiphany leads him to seek redemption amongst the Oompa Loompas. It is from this narrative that Gaspar Lopes (saxophone), Alexandre Ferreira (drums), Afonso Monteiro (guitar) and Eduardo Ribeiro (bass) create the world of Uncle Gueispar and the Oompa Loompas. In this concert, the band presents their debut album, Oompa Loomping All Around or The Quest of Overcoming, recorded with the support of gnration’s Trabalho da Casa and co-produced with the Vila Flor Cultural Centre (Guimarães).
