Alongside unprecedented development, the exponential technological advances of recent decades have also led to greater political and social fragmentation, the rise of extremism and economic inequality, massive algorithmic surveillance, and, inevitably, the progressive redefinition of power relations, reshaping the concept of sovereignty, now held hostage by the omnipresent tech giants.
Offering a broad reflection on the relationships between Power, Art, and Technology, the third edition of the INDEX biennial presents a diverse program comprising performances, conferences, an exhibition, and educational activities, which will take place at various locations throughout the city.
INDEX is an initiative of Braga Media Arts that aims to explore the relationships between art and technology, promoting dialogue and reflection on emerging issues in these areas. It is part of Braga’s action plan as a UNESCO Creative City of Media Arts, with the support of the Municipality of Braga and promoted by the company Faz Cultura EM.
