With a socio-spatial and ecological approach in urban and territorial contexts, Space Transcribers explore public space and ways of inhabiting it through site-specific practices that involve communities and places. In the year in which they celebrate a decade of activity, the architecture research studio, based in Braga, presents the performative lecture Instructions for Drawing Dialogues, which invites the public to revisit and interact with a collection of ideas, drawings, actions, and methodologies that have defined their journey over the years.

Structured in three acts, it offers an interactive and chronological journey through three of Space Transcribers’ most emblematic projects: Transcrever: Ações Participativas nos Bairros Sociais de Braga (2015) (Transcribe: Participatory Actions in the Social Neighborhoods of Braga), carried out in collaboration with the Municipality of Braga, Alocar/Deslocar (2019), created for the Maia Contemporary Art Biennial, and Reconcile the Commons in the Waters of the Tâmega (2023), developed for the Portuguese representation at the Venice Architecture Biennale. Each act offers instructions and insights into how architecture can design meaningful dialogues, not only with the less visible communities of cities, but also with the natural systems that sustain urban life. This performance also aims to provoke a comprehensive reflection on architecture as a dialogical and collaborative practice, anchored in empathy and ethics, essential for imagining more inclusive and sustainable futures.
