They came together in early 2026 to prepare a performance, at the invitation of Associação Caixa Negra. Shortly after the first concert, José Gonçalves Rios (guitar and synthesiser) and Israel Machado (bass and saxophone) decided they wanted to continue this collaboration and record an album. O Céu dos Ricos, the title of both the performance and the album, emerged from this desire. Unfolding like a story, the duo paints a portrait of Portugal as a spectacular country to live in, if one is rich. The composition flowed through noise, improvisation, repetition and masses of sound that seek to create an immersive and somewhat uncomfortable sound space.
