Founded in 1992, Arte Total is a structure for creation, production, and cultural mediation dedicated to contemporary artistic practices, particularly contemporary dance and the performing arts. Its activity focuses on the interdisciplinary intersection between dance, music, visual arts, and digital technologies.

Contrapeso is Arte Total’s cycle that promotes collaborative projects, relating choreography with video mapping and sound installation. Bringing together international artists, researchers, and creators, or those with international projection, this cycle drives contemporary artistic creation, focusing on the relationship between performing arts and environmental sustainability. Dancer, choreographer, and artistic director Lea Siebrecht is the guest of the third session of this cycle.

Inspired by the ancient practice of attributing meanings to flowers, A Linguagem das Flores (The Language of Flowers) constructs a choreographic vocabulary that translates the symbolism of flowers according to fragments of memory of a human being who feels on the edge of the abyss of nonconformity and denial in giving up who he was, with the certainty that the only thing left for him is death.
