Foundations of Portuguese alternative music in recent years, MAQUINA. and Scúru Fitchádu have been holding up the ceiling of low frequencies in Portugal. These are two projects that make mixture the core of their identity, each in their own way wrapping together different aesthetics and latitudes. Challenged by Porto promoter Machamba and gnration, they come together in a new performance emerging from an artistic residency.

A fierce Lisbon trio, MAQUINA. spin between krautrock and techno. They make body music, based on hypnotic rhythms, industrial beats and raw power. Live, they feed on an relentless drum kit, a rough bass and a sharp guitar noise that conveys an intensity that breaks through the boundaries of genre. They made their debut in 2023 with Dirty Tracks for Clubbing and followed at full steam, a year later, with PRATA (2024).

Scúru Fitchádu is Marcus Veiga. The son of a Cape Verdean father and an Angolan mother, he was born in Lisbon and gradually accumulated a range of artistic stimuli. In this project, he incorporates a little of all of them, from punk and industrial rock to funaná. After his first full-length, Un Kuza Runhu (2020), the musician released Nez txada skúru dentu skina na braku fundu (2023), a conceptual album inspired by the revolutionary movements of African liberation, and, more recently, Griots i Riots (2025).

Together, MAQUINA. and Scúru Fitchádu promise an intersection that is, at the very least, intriguing, but whose result is as unpredictable as it is deafening.
