Percussionist João Pais Filipe and composer Luís Pestana come together in the Órbita cycle. With a career spanning more than two decades, João Pais Filipe has forged a unique path in the investigation of rhythms and timbres. A member of HHY & The Macumbas, his work ranges from contemporary languages and the world of electronic and concrete music to traditional practices and diverse geographies. He has performed all over the world, notably at festivals such as Unsound and Nyege Nyege. On the border between the sacred and the profane, the digital and the organic, Luís Pestana investigates the relationship between technology, memory, and imagination. In 2022, he released Rosa Pano, on the Orange Milk Records label, an album of restraint and intensity, where madrigals, bells, and echoes of folklore mix with digital processes to evoke the human within the machine.
