órbita #44 – ensemble of other living beings

Ensemble of Other Living Beings formalises a collective of musicians who have been collaborating spontaneously for more than a decade. It brings together names such as Yaw Tembe, João Almeida, Teresa Costa, Joana Guerra, Bernardo Álvares, Leonor Cabrita, Carlos Godinho, Álvaro Rosso, João Pereira and Norberto Lobo. Connecting these different musical trajectories, the ensemble uses music as an exercise in freedom and an instrument to foster artistic experimentation and community practices. Challenged by gnration, and following a residency, Ensemble of Other Living Beings recorded a set of pieces centred on the evocation and variation of small melodies, improvisation and elastic forms of composition.
