New technologies and cultural developments are often synonymous with erasure; forgetting why or how we used to do some things, and what words or communities meant. Addressing moments, practices and works that have faded from memory (or have been completely forgotten) over the last three decades, alt.history conversation cycle features experts in culture and aesthetics, in a reflection that seeks to resurface and re-examine the lost narratives of digital culture. This programme is curated by Holo (holo.mg), a Canadian editorial and curatorial platform, created in 2012, which focuses on emerging trajectories in art, science and technology.

American writer, curator and editor, focussing on digital culture, software politics and the philosophy of emerging technologies, Nora Nahid Khan is the last guest of alt.history programme. Co-curator for the next biennial L’Image en Mouvement in 2024, with Andrea Bellini, and director of Project X Foundation For Art and Criticism, Khan is the author of the book Seeing, Naming, Knowing, released in 2019 by The Brooklyn Rail and co-author of Fear Indexing the X-Files (2017), with Steven Warwick. As an editor, she has worked for Rhizome, HOLO and Topical Cream. As a critic and moderator, she has taken part in conferences all over the world, from the Digital Earth Talks, organised by the Bloomberg Art & Technology Series, ICA Miami, Brown University and the transmediale in Berlin.
